Each year, YouTube releases a list of their top 10 most popular videos for the last 12 months. With official music videos in a separate category, this year’s list is reserved for the most viral videos of the year. Unsurprisingly, Ylvis’s “What Does the Fox Say?” video topped the list. Most exciting for the EDM world, however, is the second place winner, “Harlem Shake (Original Army Edition).” As we all know, Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” blew up this past Spring, with everyone and their mothers submitting their own versions of the viral dance. While there were plenty of worthy contenders, it looks like the Norwegian army came out on top for most popular version!
Other winners included “YOLO” by The Lonely Island featuring Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar, “Telekinetic Coffee Shop Surprise,” and “Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball (Chatroulette Version).” Check out YouTube’s 2013 recap video below.
