Yesterday Skrillex took over Austin City Limits for its second weekend and OWSLA head honcho didn’t disappoint. From a tracklist spanning over 60 different songs, mash-ups, originals and remixes, Sonny Moore showcased not only his mastery at mixing but his ability to find great and undiscovered songs to expose them to the masses. The hour and 15 minute long performance perfectly illustrates what fans have come to expect and love from the LA native, a never ending flow of bass, lasers, and mind-bending visuals.
Prior to the performance, Sal Masekela caught up with Skrillex for a brief but fun interview for Red Bull. Throughout the short 2 minute long back and forth, Sonny goes over his pre-performance routine, which mainly involves looking at his computer, as well as the documentary “Let’s Make a Spaceship” which was premiered right after his ACL show (still looking for a copy of that one).
