It’s Friday, so you need Friday night party tunes right? Enter Kid Arkade who remixed Rae Morris‘ “Closer” for an absolute jam. It is the perfect mixture of electro and progressive, taking from both but not fully committing to one style or the other. That makes this really fresh for me, because those terms are then descriptors as opposed to all out genre labels. Usually it’s more aggressive, bassy styles of house that really get my gears going, but this one gets them working just fine. When I think of good house music in the more traditional sense of sound, this is a newer track that is for sure going to come to mind.
