“The Cube” Can Revolutionize How We Dance With Each Other

Cube project in the Garage at the Microsoft, Redmond campus

Imagine a giant three-dimensional object that creates a virtual space, while at the same time encouraging real-life interaction. Outside, it is 4-feet square. Inside, it is powered by five computers and four Kinects working in concert.

This week Microsoft & Stimulant rolled out their latest joint venture called “The Cube.”. Revealed at Seattle’s Decibel Festival, the cube has been a well kept secret until its premiere at the EMP Museum which showcased the crazy strides in technology these two companies have been making. Although this technology is in its early stages, it’s not that difficult to picture its possible application in live performances by artists and musicians.
