EDM is great and all, but sometimes we need a refresher. Thankfully, Diplo has hand picked 2 hours of fresh hip hop including tracks from J Dilla, Beastie Boys, NAS, and many more.
Diplo’s latest mix is in honor of “Hip Hop Month” at his BBC radio station and is a follow up to the Hudson Mohawke mix that kicked off this month’s series.
Forget the bass heavy drops associated with a Diplo set and witness a completely new side to the veteran below:

completely new AKA the exact same thing he did last year?
Hip- Hop no longer deserves it’s own month anymore, especially with the current sound it’s genre is shitting all over the charts with… Where’s the DnB month at?!
His music is so similar to hip hop, beatport barely categorise right half the time. and “Bass-heavy drop”?? diplo’s music is anything but..
Sickk
When I first heard about Dipo, he was this innovative guy making mixtapes mashing up an MIA album with classic and new hip-hop (did the same with La Roux and Santigold). I’m not sure what this guy’s about these days though – a lot of ego perhaps. But he does have some credibility when it comes to creative hip-hop mixes and combining new sounds.
I dug those ‘aeiou’ mixes he did.
And Ted hip-hop is still relevent you just need to dig, its not that hard
