Though the original could be called indie dance, or even some offshoot of electronica, Illenium has done what he does best and reworked The Kite String Tangle’s original track into a completely original vibe with all-new sounds and feelings.
It starts off with a beautiful piano melody, taking its time to slowly build up to the magnificently arranged drop — a wonderful blend of future trap that pulses and stabs at just the right beat. All of the spacious elements in the music, the pieces that add to the illusion of room between the sounds, come together spectacularly under the bassline.
The one really odd thing about this remix is that it’s over before you know it. I don’t get the feeling that it should be longer, though. Rather, it begs for multiple listens. It leaves you hungry for more.
