Few artists out there have as unique or as versatile a sound as Space Jesus. The alter ego of Brooklyn native, Jasha Tull, Space Jesus has been steadily carving out a spot for himself in the experimental bass scene; from working with genre-bending artists like M!NT and Yheti to performing a spectacular set at Terminal 5, it’s safe to say this prophet of wubs is on a massive roll.
His latest release, a remix of “Looks Like Rain” by the legendary Grateful Dead, keeps the freshness coming full force. A half and half mixture of future footwork and wonky space dub, the track is a journey through bass fueled psychedelia. The vocals are delightfully chopped up, the guitar riffs are seductively glitched out, and Jasha’s signature sound shines through loud and clear.
While Space Jesus has been tearing things up on the East Coast for a minute now, he’s also snagged some extremely dope bookings on the West Coast; he’s also been added to several stops on Break Science‘s #BRKTHRU tour, so there will be plenty of chances for all you beat freaks to catch this man behind the decks. It all kicks off September 10th at Wormhole Wednesdays and the full schedule is posted below; in the meantime, peep Space Jesus‘ remix of ‘Looks Like Rain’ and grab the free download if you’re feelin’ the vibes!
