Porter Robinson’s Worlds was a different direction for the artist and some people missed his old style reflected in his Spitfire EP.
Fortunately James Egbert, a well known house producer, has taken on Porter’s track “Flicker” and given his spin on it. Instead of a upbeat future bass song, James has crafted a club ready electro house remix. That being said, this remix isn’t something focused purely on the drop; there is clear appreciation from James for the original song in the breakdowns, especially the longer and more climatic second breakdown. I think my favorite part of the song was right after the first drop when the song became a melodic groove machine. It was so unexpected, yet it fit perfectly into the overall feel of the song.
