Drugs are a sensitive topic. I could write a whole other article explaining why that is the case, however, I’d rather simply share one honest artist’s view of the topic. Grimes is someone who has been around the block and she’s come out on top with a new attitude. That’s why she doesn’t want all that being plastered on to her Wikipedia page, which let’s admit: it’s the first page we look to for any artist (sorry, teachers).
After a quote was repeatedly taken down and put back up, Grimes had her own words she wanted everybody to know. She posted to Tumblr stating that is not a part of her she wants people to remember. Because, again: people remember that kind of gossippy information. You can read her full statement below. This ties in with the numerous headlines regarding drug usage and overdoses in our scene. We don’t want to have our story written with all the focus on the negatives. Let’s take action to make the changes that Grimes has. 
“losing people to drugs and alcohol is the worst because they destroy any good memories you have of them before forcing you to deal with the empty space they leave behind. also whoever keeps putting the few quotes i said early in my career about drugs back into my wikipedia page is an asshole. I don’t want that to be part of my narrative, and if it has to be I want people to know that i hate hard drugs. All they’ve ever done is kill my friends and cause me to be unproductive. Editing a website that people take seriously and reference all the time so that it looks like i think amphetamines are cool is incredibly irresponsible, people might read that and think its a cool thing to emulate. I hope you know you are doing the world a disservice. I just watched another person I care deeply about basically turn into gollum and my heart is broken.”
