Unless you’ve been living under a rock or away from your Facebook feed for the past week, pretty much everyone has heard of the ALS ice bucket challenge. For those not in the know, ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, “a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.” To raise awareness for ALS, the ALS organization kick started a viral campaign which involves either pouring a bucket of ice on your head or donating $100 to the association. Because everyone is incredibly cheap (including millionaire DJs), most people have opted for the bucket. However, Tiesto shows that he does have a heart by not only allowing ice water to splash on him, but by also making a donation to The ALS Association through his Club Life fund. The reason for the virality of the campaign? You get to nominate your friends to take the challenge. After being nominated by the Chainsmokers and Brandon Prust, Tiesto is one of the first big DJs to have taken the ALS ice bucket challenge and here’s the video to prove it.
