Just a month ago, SXSW music festival suffered two immediate deaths along with arresting suspect Rashard Owens with numerous charges, most important being capital murder. He was accused of drunk driving, car theft, and fleeing the police, actions which injured over 20 people along with killing what is now a total of four: 27-year-old Jamie West, Steven Craenmehr, 35; 26- year-old Sandy Le, and DeAndre Tatum, 18, who was the most recent confirmed death.
We’ve just received word, via the Austin-American Statesman Reports, that Owens is now facing four new charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Even more, the police tacked on a additional $500,000 to the original $5 million set for Owen’s bail. These new charges, along with the increase in bail, appear as a result of the devastating injuries to the victims harmed by Owens.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families suffering from his actions, we hope to you the best.
