Ascendance just took us way back with this bootleg. For a lot of people Skrillex’s ‘Promises’ remix was the first introduction into this crazy world of dubstep, so it holds a lot of nostalgic sentiment. When dealing with a bootleg like that, it’s important to put your own spin on the track while also paying homage to the original. Ascendance did just that. Adding some dry snares and hi hats over the bass line and injecting his signature high-pitched swinging synths, Ascendance successfully gave us all an amazing fresh look at a throwback tune.
