BBC Radio 1 has been a very influential station for electronic music. Boasting a huge fan-base, stellar resident lineup and, the best host you could ask for in Pete Tong, the radio station has elevated itself to new heights. That being said, not just anyone gets support on this station and even fewer get to take control and perform for millions to hear. It comes as no surprise that some huge names are joining the team for a new year of residency. Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Brodinski and, Simon Patterson have all gotten the nod from BBC Radio 1 and the rest of us are just in for another solid year of new and cutting edge music.

Thursday 1 May 2014: 9pm – Martin Garrix. 12 midnight – Steve Angello
Thursday 8 May 2014: 9pm – Brodinski. 12 midnight – Heidi
Thursday 15 May 2014: 9pm – Tessela. 12 midnight – James Blake
Thursday 22 May 2014: 9pm – Simon Patterson. 12 midnight – Tiësto
