On March 7, 3LAU partnered up with Lit Ultra Bar in Philadelphia, Off Center Events, and the B+ Cancer Foundation to perform a fundraising show where a portion of the proceeds were donated to help children battling cancer. His set was energetic as he flawlessly infiltrated favorite remixes of artists like Blink 182 into the dance music atmosphere, as well as a plethora of his own unreleased collaborations and singles. The Philly crowd was lively as usual, dancing along with 3LAU to help support an awesome cause.
3LAU, who is also known for his philanthropy with Pencils of Promise, an organization that helps build schools and train teachers for children living in poverty, speaks out about why it is important to give back to the community.
“Ever since I was 16 years old I started sincerely dedicating myself to philanthropic efforts. I worked in micro-finance in high school for a very long time and I thought when I started making music, dance music in particular, I might as well give back. I’m so lucky to be in the position I’m in. It makes sense.”
After putting on a memorable set at Lit, Your EDM caught up with 3LAU to discuss his newest single How You Love Me released today, future collaborations, and more.
How You Love Me is a captivating blend of beautiful lyrics and an engaging melody. It took 3LAU a year and a half to perfect such a big track; one that I predict will become the hit of summer 2014. It’s the perfect tune to ring in festival season, so check it out below and be sure to purchase How You Love Me on Beatport as 100% of 3LAU’s share of the proceeds will be donated to his biggest philanthropic effort yet: Pencils of Promise.
