Although it’s not dance music, “Hero” is colossal. Converse matched up Diplo, Frank Ocean, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon together to create a free soulful single that will lift your spirits on this overcast Monday. The credits for the track run even further, with contributions made by the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir, whose vocals add an innocent cheeriness to the composition. From a technical standpoint the record pushes the brink of perfection, which is most likely thanks to that white dude that seems to be everywhere. Compared to dance music tracks, this one is pretty short, so be ready for it to stack up plays while it’s on repeat pretty damn quickly. If for whatever reason this doesn’t tickle your fancy then I just don’t know what to do with you!
