Your EDM’s Collection Conspectus Chapter #1

ConspectusCollection-logo

A recap of the week’s top tunes from Your EDM’s Collection Soundcloud page is something we have done before, however now we are making it an official weekly exercise. Five songs each week will be chosen by our head music curators and deposited here for you to enjoy. Our Soundcloud page is a fast growing entity that you’re going to want to follow if you don’t already, so you can stay up with awesome records like the ones we have today.

I’m sure this won’t be the case every week, but this one just happened to be dominated by remixes. Beyonce, A Great Big World, One Direction and Showtek get their works revamped by some really talented producers while the sole original is provided by a duo out of Belgium. Almost all of these ones are free for you guys, so before you head out snag them all! Let’s get to the first official conspectus now, shall we?

Chapter 1:

Justin Beck dishes out what happens to be one of my favorite tracks from the week. A lively progressive/complextro combination makes this one incredibly fun and brisk. I feel like if you like any sort of house music, no matter the genre, you are going to dig Justin’s remix of A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s “Say Something.”

Previously posted in a free downloads package, Sevag Area-21‘s remix of “Story Of My Life,” originally by One Direction. It’s that good that we had to promote it here again. A straight up festival jam with a club vibe gives it a more homey feel. No matter what atmosphere this one is played in, it’s sure to impress.

The only one running the trap in this conspectus is Canto who chose to remix “Raise Your Hands” by Showtek & Ummet Ozcan. Even though horns and plucks are becoming a staple, Canto kills his remix with his ability to adapt an idea. Even with his own song, he changes things up to bring something fresh to the table.

The Belgian’s Chris Baxx & VAG bring “Jetlag” to the world from the Royal Ravers label. The melodic big room single has a roadmap that doesn’t come back to the same drop the second time around. Instead of running in circles, the duo create an impelling production that will run the dancefloor for an entire five minutes if played all the way through.

Ending the first conspectus chapter is a remix of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” Elephante of Los Angeles comes in hot with an impassioned progressive composition that is packed with spirited fervor few other songs can match. This is one of those tracks you play when you are getting ready, then on the road to a show, and after hearing it at a show you still want to hear it some more.
