The small college town of Athens, Georgia is known for spawning chart topping legends like the B-52’s, Widespread Panic, R.E.M. and Of Montreal, but recently the home of the Georgia Bulldogs has seen an uprising of electronic producers staking their claim in the musical mecca’s legacy.
At the forefront of promoting EDM in Athens is a collaborative project between local producers Mob Knarley and Dreg called After Party. The boys hit the gates running on their first track, which is a trapstep rework of A-trak‘s danceable remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeah‘s “Heads Will Roll.”
After Party‘s bootleg remix wipes away any claim that dubstep and trap are dead by meshing both genres into an all out onslaught of FM growls, trap percussion rolls, and enough glitching to make your brain short circuit.
