Although it can be argued that Zedd and Classixx stand on two opposite ends of the dance music production world, someone somewhere decided to bring these worlds together by offering Classixx as opening support for Zedd’s national tour.
However, can these worlds really collide successfully without upsetting Clarity fans? After performing a few shows with Zedd, Classixx favorited and retweeted the positive feedback they received.
Yet not all were pleased with the duo’s performance. There were tweets signifying that the group was disrespectfully booed offstage and claiming that they ‘suck’. 
Some fans were very, very confused as to what they were actually listening to when Classixx was playing.
And some took it so far as begging, or perhaps warning them never to come back to their city again.
There doesn’t seem to be any commentary from Zedd himself on the matter, but his music attracts a wide array of fans, from those who respect all different forms of dance music, to teenie-boppers who still have Clarity lyrics as their Facebook statuses. Therefore I think it’s safe to pin this disdain towards Classixx on Zedd “fans” who sit on the one side of the spectrum.

What the fuck. Classixx is chillwave disco. Saw them at Toro Y Moi and they were killing it. Definitely one of my favorite artists of this year.

So tired of negativity in EDM. Kids need to shut up. Everyone’s a critic, no ones an artist. Diversity is why makes EDM great. Mainstream does not 100% represent our world. Zedd and everyone else was “underground” once and wasn’t always in the spotlight. If we’re not open to new acts EDM will all sound the same and die off. Very disappointed. Not PLUR..
Classixx is actually really good, I’ve never heard of him before today but I’m currently listening to him. He is great, officialy a fan!!!
this is disgusting, most of the people probably wouldn’t know it was zedd on stage until he dropped clarity. and all these “hardcore” zedd fans, I guess they have never listened to any zedds dead’s shit? he doesn’t just do vocalist housey songs. These are the type of people ruining the scene. they want to hear what they want to hear 24/7 and anything other than the top 20 EDM playlist is garbage in their eyes. If you could all keep it to local venues and avoid attending big festivals that would be great because this kind of attitude will completely “kill my vibe”. im sure all you top 20’ers caught that reference 🙂
