The Decibel Festival, held throughout Seattle every fall, will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary at the end of the month. Since the inception in 2003 those behind Decibel have created a premiere festival that features a wide variety of events. For five days and nights Decibel puts forth a list of artists and performers that epitomize the use of the word “eclectic”. One hundred artists from fifty different countries pretty much ensures that everyone’s interests are covered. Boat parties, performances focused on visuals, and after hour shows till 7am scrape the surface of the festivals music side. But what truly encompasses the holistic approach, are the opportunities for those interested in the music industry. Workshops, demos, and the festival conference provides attendees with a hands on experience that is unparalleled. A grassroots festival that attributes much of its success to the volunteer based staff workers almost sounds too good to be true, but thankfully it is true, and ours to enjoy.
