It might not be from his new Magna Carta Holy Grail, but this is one sample any rap fan will recognize. Deep house artist Sharam Jey handles the Middle Eastern sounds of “Big Pimpin’” by rap music kingpin Jay-Z in his new track “Sahara!“. Sharam Jey has a keen interest in recycling hip hop records, his track “Nonstop!” with Kolombo samples EPMD, just as one example. He also is sure to leave the scratching sound effects intact, to further the crossover appeal. The other track “Feel 4 It” also has a relatively memorable melody, but “Sahara!” is the must download of the two.
“Sahara!” begins at 3:18 in the track below, both it and “Feel 4 It” are available August 12th on Bunny Tiger.
