You would be hard pressed to find anyone who put out as much music in 2020 as R3HAB did; the Moroccan-Dutch producer/DJ put out a new track seemingly every week. The vast majority of his tracks were much more radio-friendly, pop crossovers. R3HAB’s going a little bit different route to start 2021 with his latest single “Candyman.”
While the song does feature a pop-leaning female vocal, “Candyman” is a dance music collab, something his longtime fans will be sure to appreciate. R3HAB joins forces with Italian producer/DJ duo Marnik on this one. They’ve previously collab’d with KSHMR and Don Diablo, as well as put out remixes for Kygo and Crankdat.
“Candyman” lives up to its saccharine title by providing an upbeat dose of dancefloor vibes. The verse and child-like lyrics make you feel like you’re floating in a state of bliss. This is truly a feel good anthem. Despite the dreamy verse, the drop is ready-made for the club with a heavy bassline and some ringing synth notes.
