Australia has knack for turning out incredible talent in the dance music industry. One great example of this is Queensland-native Heath Club. Supported by the likes of Triple J and Purple Sneakers, Health Club’s genre-defining sound has quickly made waves throughout Australia. Cutting his teeth as a resident at the infamous Elsewhere the last few years, Health Club (born Lucas Reid) quickly became a natural at commanding an eclectic and upfront dance floor.
We are thrilled to premiere his exhilarating new single, a collaboration with Auckland-based duo Foley, titled “Way Too Long” via Off Leash Records. Featuring a funky bass line and irresistible groove, the production allows Foley to channel feelings of isolation into an ultra-emotive vocal performance. The vibe is irresistible, soothing and grooving for the entire three and a half minutes.
Here’s what Foley had to say about the song and collaboration:
“We wanted to talk about being so connected to someone that you really felt the lack of their presence, and the struggle of feeling so disconnected when they’re away. That feeling is so applicable to so many situations – long distance relationships, friendships, even just needing someone you love around when something goes wrong; most of all it was about feeling like time without them was paralyzing. Health Club was such a great fit and took the production and arrangement to a whole new level! We are so stoked to have collaborated across the ditch on something so unique; a collision of all of our influences!”
