Deniz Koyu Drops Pop Infused Summer Single “Next to You”

Summer has just gotten started, so it’s way too early to name an official “Song of the Summer” yet. However, we just might have an early contender with Deniz Koyu’s latest track “Next to You.” While the Turkish-German producer/DJ’s previous releases this year were definitely more festival-leaning, “Next to You” is much more pop-leaning. This track works equally well whether you’re driving along the beach on a bright summer day or vibing out at a festival (if there were festivals right now.)

The track opens with a light grooving melody, the same melody will end up becoming the drop later. The production is light and minimal for the first verse. The male vocal is uncredited, but it shines throughout the song. A nice piano melody comes in as the lyrics speed up, and it’s just like summer distilled in a bottle. We get the line “I wish you were the morning, I could wake up next to you.” The melodic drop hits and it’s just blissful vibes as the “Next to You” vocal refrain repeats over the melody. “Next to You” will put a smile on your face and make you dream of summer days.

Listen to the latest from Deniz Koyu, “Next to You,” out now on Protocol. You can also watch Deniz’s live stream for Axtone’s 15th Anniversary House Party.
