Mamby On The Beach 2019 Canceled Due To High Waters & Endangered Birds

Mamby on the Beach is officially canceled. The music festival, originally set for next month over August 23 and 24 in Chicago, has released a statement citing circumstances beyond their control.

These circumstances include the higher than average waters of Lake Michigan, which have taken over the beach portion of the intended site. In addition, the presence of a federally protected species, the Great Lakes Piping Plover, called for protection of the shorebirds.

Mamby states that “despite working tirelessly with the Chicago Park District and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services to find a new location, moving the festival at this late a date, while still providing a superior beach event experience, would be impossible and a disservice to fans and artists alike.”

In its years, the festival has striven to provide a “more than music” experience with beach volleyball, water balloon fights, yoga sessions, and so much more. The setting at Montrose Beach has proven to be an ideal location for Mamby to take place. Hopefully the event can pick up where it left off next year.

According to Mamby, tickets will be automatically refunded this week. Please allow 5-10 business days from the refund date for the funds to process.
