Be prepared for loads of Marshmello this week. Along with a new album, he’s just launched a new mobile game and also features in a new Artist Spotlight Story on YouTube. The video, entitled More Than Music, follows Marshmello’s career from its inception to some of its biggest moments and most devoted fans.
Marshmello’s video in the Artist Spotlight series (now the longest video in the series by about 8 minutes) focuses on the positive side of the artist and brand and the happiness it brings to his fans. A lot of the story is told by Moe Shalizi, his manager from day 1 — that’s primarily a consequence of how the Mello character doesn’t really speak in press situations. (He does speak in the video when he surprises a fan named Beni, and on stage during shows.)
The video also heavily focuses on Marshmello’s prominence in India, including footage of interviews with plenty of locals. They speak of how everyone from kids to parents see Marshmello as a force for positivity and acceptance.
