People in the UK are doing more Class A drugs than they’ve done in over a decade — which is being credited specifically to “increase in powder cocaine and ecstasy use.”
According to the Home Office’s Crime Survey of England and Wales for 2017/18 report, 8.4 percent of young people ages 16 – 24 did Class As in 2017 through 2018. The last time numbers were comparatively this high was back in 2005 through 2006.
That’s nearly double the amount of people who took that category of drugs from 2012 through 2013. There’s also a significant jump when compared to 4.3 percent in 2016 through 2017. 
Overall, 3.5 percent of people 16 to 59 had also done Class As, compared to 3 percent in 2007 through 2008, with cocaine and molly being the drugs of choice. However, the majority of those surveyed said they only took those substances once or twice a year or so.
