SuDs newest EP Dream Sequencer is out now via Street Ritual, but we want to focus on one song in particular, “Hassasian” with WuWei.
While the entire EP is absolutely fire, and you should absolutely listen to it, “Hassasian” has that “je ne sais quoi” quality to it that makes it so sonically impressive. As one of only two collaborations on the EP, it already has a sort of special quality to it, but the sound that it sends up delivering is absolutely stunning.
The song doesn’t so much have a drop as a cascading wall of bass, falling and rising with the rhythm and creating a whole world beneath its figurative waves. The squelching bass pounding with the drums is particularly effective played alongside the Eastern-influenced synths.
