A preliminary report from the Pima County medical examiner’s office has listed suspected drug overdose as a cause of death in the tragic loss of rapper and hip hop icon Lil Peep.
Lil Peep was found unconscious on his tour bus Wednesday night after which paramedics were called, and he was pronounced dead. Sgt. Pete Dugan of the Tuscon Police told the Associated Press that evidence points to an overdose of Xanax, although no official cause of death has been announced.
Many people have pointed out the fact that it is difficult (though not impossible) to overdose on pure Xanax, and speculate that it was laced with fentanyl. 
The medical examiner’s office noted that it will take six to eight weeks to complete the toxicology report and make a final determination of the cause of death.
