This “Smart Jacket” allows you to connect to your smartphone through a small tag and access a number of commands. The concept behind the innovative “Jacquard” technology by Google is pretty cool — it can start or stop music, get directions, read text messages, and more with a swipe or tap of the jacket sleeve.
But, this is actually a perplexing article of clothing… What if you get hot? What if you don’t always want to be wearing the same denim jacket? Or, even worse — what if you need to wash it?
This technology-woven jacket, co-engineerd by the tech giant and iconic fashion brand, might be the future of smart clothing — but not just yet. The $350 (£260) price tag will buy 10 washes max.
The fine print reads: “Jacket designed to withstand up to 10 washes with the Jacquard snap tag removed; varies by usage and wash conditions.”
