Forbes just released this year’s list of Highest-Paid celebrities, which “ranks the top-earning front-of-camera entertainers on the planet by pretax income from June 1, 2016 through June 1, 2017.”
Diddy topped the list, at $130 million, thanks in large part to his equity in Sean John clothing as well as his continued partnership with Ciroc. You can expect a large amount of musicians on the list this year, in addition to your “typical” silver screen celebrities and even some authors (J.K. Rowling comes in at #3).
Included on this year’s list are The Chainsmokers at #65 with $38 million. Their payday comes from a heavy touring schedule as well as multiple multi-platinum singles, such as “Closer” and “Don’t Let Me Down.”
The world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities pulled in $5.15 billion in total — more than the combined GDP of Belize, Liberia and Gambia. See the full list here.
