Zedd and Alessia Cara‘s collaboration is here to “Stay” for the duration of the summer — as the single makes its way into pop radio play, sits pretty at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and just hit platinum status in the U.S.!
The RIAA‘s current Platinum Certification requirements call for 1 million earned units, with each digital download counting for 1 unit or 150 on-demand audio or video streams per 1 unit. No matter the combination, it’s not an easy task for any artist.
Recently, Kygo and Selena Gomez also achieved platinum status with their hit “It Ain’t Me,” so that mega producer status mixed with it-girl pop star vocals must be a modern recipe for success! 
“I think this song is right in the middle between where Alessia is musically and where I am and that’s what’s so exciting about it,” Zedd describes his hit track. “I’ve been trying to knock down barriers around music genres and this is another step for me to walk towards a musical future where I can create any genre I want without people putting me in a box.”
