Jets defensive end Leonard Williams is making headlines off the field for breaking up a fight at Governors Ball music festival in NYC! Twitter user @gunnerpunner explained how it all went down, and captured it on video.
Here’s the play-by-play:
“As I was leaving the festival tonight, I saw a man shouting at a woman, mid-argument. He then started to manhandle her and call her names.”
@gunnerpunner said it took 3 or 4 guys to get him away from the woman, but then he circled back and grabbed her again. That’s when Williams got involved.
“Aggressive guy came back. Only this time he was confronted with the biggest person I’ve ever seen in my life — 6’5 and 300lbs (thanks Wiki) / Aggressive man was trying to get to the woman but the big dude was just in the way. So calm just like you’re not getting through.”
After being squared up on, threatened, and eventually pushed, Williams simply picked the guy up like a sack of potatoes and physically removed him. All the while, the football player kept his cool and handled the situation like a champ.
“Anyway some bystander was like ‘That’s Leonard Williams. He plays for the Jets’ – Felt he deserves credit on here for the way he behaved.”
Funnily enough, the man whom Williams manhandled is allegedly none other than Darron Lee, his teammate on the Jets.
