aurum might be known to his friends as Kevin Diaz, 26 from Mexico City but he’s a complete unknown to me. That being said, I just stumbled on his latest release “Better” with vocalist Phephi and there’s no way I could have even asked for a better introduction to an act.
“Better” perfectly encapsulates my mood on a lazy Friday evening. Mellow, relaxed, and ready for a cigarette. The dark brooding atmosphere from aurum’s slick instrumental pairs perfectly with Phephi’s equally-brooding vocals to create a potent musical mixture best served in the waning hours of the night.
