It is with a heavy heart that we report the death of VJ Jonathan Bernbaum in the Oakland warehouse that claimed the lives of over 30 others on Friday night. Bernbaum worked as the visual artist for Knife Party, Markus Schulz and many more in the EDM community, heralded by those he met as a truly talented and passionate contributor.
Earlier today, Bernbaum was included in a list of about 35 still-missing individuals related to the Oakland fire. Tonight, however, it was confirmed that he was found as a victim of the incident.
Several close friends and acquaintances of Bernbaum have reached out to their social media accounts to offer thoughts and condolences in wake of their loss.
