Listen To Flume’s HUGE New Playlist Of 125 Tracks

Beats And Things. That’s the title of Flume’s gargantuan Spotify playlist featuring 125 of his favorite tunes. The list has everything from J Dilla to Moby, and MF Doom to Baauer, making for a listening experience that’s as varied as it is lengthy.

It’s always a pleasure to glimpse into the mind of a producer as talented as Flume, and it’s obvious his groundbreaking style is drawn from a wealth of inspiration. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the first single from the Skin Companion EP, “Quirk,” due out November 25 via Mom + Pop.

In other Flume news, the Australian artist is the latest to hop on the trend of becoming post-EDM. In a recent interview with NME, Flume, like many others, says that he doesn’t really associate himself with the term ‘EDM.’

“I get asked: ‘Where do you see yourself in the EDM scene?’ I don’t know what to say. I don’t really even know what it is – like, ‘electronic dance music’? Am I a dance act?”

This sentiment was most recently echoed by Afrojack, of all people, when last November he said outright, “I don’t want to be an EDM artist. I want to make something that people can be proud of.” As if the two were mutually exclusive…

Whatever your opinion on the term ‘EDM’ is, Flume’s abilities as a producer and tastemaker are not up for debate.
