Inverness is undoubtedly a name you’ve come across a few times if you are a fan of the future bass movement. The kid has a collection of first class remixes, a collaboration with KRNE, and a sensational original in his catalogue already but hopes to up the ante with this new one. The track comes with the new Spirited compilation and is another long awaited original from the talented producer. The track, “Your Word,” comes after Inverness announced he hasn’t posted much music recently in hopes to “devote more time to polishing [his] work.” Well, I’m glad he took that time to polish because this new track is nothing but shinning gold.
Flume styled, subtle synths begin the track beckoning you to dive in. Percussion comes in, punchy kicks and vocal chops excite you as the tension build. Classic waving future bass synths and crisp snares tickle your ears as the track toggles between a half time and a double time beat. This particular track has been a year in the making. Inverness said,
“I started work on ‘Your Word’ about a year and a half ago. It was originally supposed to be for a music video, but I scrapped the project file because I felt like it did not fit at the time. After revisiting the song a few months later, I felt like I could give this piece another chance – and it came together so naturally after I gave it some time off. I am really happy with how it came out and I feel like it does feel freeform but also jubilant in where my new sound is heading.”
It’s a good thing Inverness took a step back on this one. Check out the new track below:
