When you’re as big as Martin Garrix, you’ve got to go into each show with a plan. In a recent interview with Billboard at iHeartRadio Fest, Garrix explains how he likes to arrive early and get an idea of the crowd’s response to certain music, but says he becomes an entirely different person on stage.
Garrix also tells fans about what exactly happened during his massive screw-up at EDC Vegas, when he accidentally cut off the music before a drop.
Still, it’s humbling to hear that such a globally renown act has such a simple mission when playing to a crowd of thousands.
“My number one goal when I’m on stage is just to see people smile, and that’s what I do my shows for.”
