Whether you like them or not, NERVO is arguably the biggest female-led act in the dance music world (well, next to Krewella anyway). With a Grammy Award, a full-length album and countless DJ Mag Top 100 placements, these girls seem to be just about unstoppable. However, it seems the duo has decided to step out of the spotlight of Ultra Records to put out a more low-key release on Monstercat, entitled “Anywhere You Go.”
My personal taste in NERVO’s music has gone from good to bad to worse, but “Anywhere You Go” seems to be a step in the right direction. Turning their backs to big room, NERVO has turned to a much more vibe-y house sound, arguably similar to – or even inspired by – the styles of Robin Schulz and Felix Jaehn. Following in the footsteps of some great tunes, this could easily be EDM’s next big radio hit.
Though “Anywhere You Go” is NERVO’s big Monstercat debut, this definitely isn’t Timmy Trumpet‘s first rodeo. Long-time fans will remember his smashing SCNDL collaboration “Bleed,” which dropped on Monstercat back in late 2013. While he isn’t featured on production this time around, Timmy Trumpet’s appearance in no less noteworthy. His soothing trumpet line perfectly complement’s the track’s overall vibe, especially in terms of NERVO’s vocals. Thanks to their insane compatibility, “anywhere you go, I’ll be right there” will forever be stuck in my head.
