Shipsomnia’s New Voyage Is More Than A Festival Cruise

The only festival cruise to boast comprehensive themes and art installations, Shipsomnia has been gripping the attention of dance fans the world over and as the ticket sale date approaches, anticipation is only building.

The organizers, Mad Fresh Events, are dedicated to mature musical curation, not just the sweeping main stage beats of most electronic dance festivals. Here’s a quote from Shipsomnia’s Co-Founder and Creative Director, Jay Slangen.

“Just because a DJ didn’t make the top 100 list, doesn’t mean that they don’t have amazing music or a huge following. If you find yourself liking the side stages more than the main stage, then this is the festival for you. We like that memorable sunset track or that good pool party groove. We like to go hard when it’s needed and funk things up too. It will be a musical journey for sure.”

And considering that the cruise’s new voyage, The Tale Of The Kraken, is making a stop at the international clubbing mecca of Ibiza, the musical offerings are mind-numbing to say the least.

“This year [2017] sailing out of Europe in June, we’ll have lots more options for DJs and other artists to choose from which is exciting.  There are so many legendary DJs that we’d love to see play on board. We’ve got a few favorites in mind, but can’t say yet.”

Additionally, Shipsomnia hosts “Open Decks” sessions for attendees who might also be DJs and producers, offering a chance be discovered and share their skills and love of music with their fellow Shipsomniacs.

However, Shipsomnia is promising so much more than just music in a world-class festival setting. Mad Fresh Events has collaborated with numerous brand partners to take advantage of the cruise ship’s full range of resources, from its rock climbing wall, to onboard theater, and even a casino. And they don’t leave the artists out of the activities, either; last year’s Search For Lost Rhythms cruise hosted yoga with Yolanda Be Cool, dodgeball with Amtrac, and even a production masterclass with Mat Zo.

While partying is certainly on the agenda, the cruise aims to curate a well-rounded experience including sightseeing, art, food, shopping, and adventure in the most jaw-dropping locations. This last bit is where a VIP package can really pull its weight, with a few choice excursions catering exclusively to these customers.

Mad Fresh Events has also orchestrated a charity auction to take place in early 2017, with artists and sponsors donating “Money Can’t Buy” experiences. 100% of proceeds will go toward aiding marine conservation and child refugees.

And last, but far from being least, is the Shipsomnia Ball, their signature theme night where the legends of the seas come to life. The dress code is “Anything ocean goes” and a best costume competition is held for the most hyped male and female outfits. These winners shall be crowned the King and Queen of the Shipsomnia Ball, and will win a free balcony cabin on the next Shipsomnia event.

We can hardly believe the scale of Shipsomnia’s offerings, and can’t wait to experience the Tale of the Kraken next June. Tickets go on sale Saturday, and you can find more information on Shipsomnia’s official website here.

“Shipsomnia is not just a festival, we highly focus on the travel aspect and the experience value of each chapter and that’s what makes us so special. We encourage people to #LiveTheJourney and hope that everyone goes back feeling fulfilled after a journey with us.”
