Dance music has begun to seep into nearly every facet of popular culture, from mainstream music, to advertisements, even to presidential campaigns. Now, after Netsky’s rise to become Belgium’s Olympic musical ambassador, Bassnectar has supplied the soundtrack to the opening ceremony for the USA’s 2016 Olympic Swimming Trials. Though the event happened back in June, Bassnectar is just now sharing the video with fans.
“Timestretch” has long been a Bassnectar classic, and now the USA Olympic Swimming Team has shared the secret nectar with the world. It begs the question, was there a covert basshead directing the ceremony, or is Lorin more mainstream than we all realize… Either way, accompanied by an insane visual program on the pool surface, the track is the perfect beginning to set the world stage.
