Producer Medasin has just released his latest original track, this time in the form of a mellow and crooning original called “Daydream,” featuring vocals from JOBA. With a simple percussion arrangement and a strict focus on melody and underlying vibe, the piece instantly becomes a laid back swayer.
It begins with JOBA’s introduction above warbling organ tones, until a series of claps and bouncing synth stings reveal the tempo. A gentle swell leads into the break, where a light hip hop rhythm is punctuated by distant marimba strikes and a stuttering bass synth. The elements are briefly stripped away, allowing JOBA’s voice to take over the spotlight once more before returning to the bobbing serenity of the main melody.
