SubPacs have been around for a minute, and have gradually become integrated into the studios of electronic dance musicians like Excision, Dada Life, Zomboy and more. Now, another company is making tactile audio even more accessible.
Created by former employees of Native Instruments and Ableton, the Basslet is the latest in wearable audio. Taking cues from the latest swarm of smart watches, the Basslet wirelessly receives information from an unobtrusive sender unit to create haptic audio feedback. The entire package appears to be a sleek build created for ease of use.
“We wanted a design that supports a single purpose – feeling the music – without any distractions. Everything you see on the Basslet follows that purpose. [The] intention was to combine our sophisticated technology with a clean and timeless design that reflects our high standards in terms of quality, usability and comfort.”
