Billboard Just Ranked The Highest Paid Musicians of The Year

Billboard just compiled their list of the highest paid musicians of the last 12 months and it’s rather surprising. As usual, touring is the determinant factor in how much artists are ranking in, and streaming rakes in a remarkably low sum considering WMG just claimed streaming as their largest source of revenue.

Curiously, no dance music artists made the list, despite Calvin Harris reportedly earning $66 million in 2015.

While electronic dance musicians are noticeably absent, several of the artists who made it on the list have close ties with the genre.

Disclosure collaborator Sam Smith makes an appearance on the #31 spot with $7.5 million in revenue. Rudimental homeboy Ed Sheeran came in at #17 with $11.6 million, and of course Diplo’s main lady, Madonna, wasn’t about to be left off the list, clocking in at #14 with $12 million

However, Calvin Harris’ one and only bae, Taylor Swift, peaks at the #1 spot. T-Swift grossed a whopping $73.5 million in 2015, with $61.7 million coming from a relentless touring schedule. Consult Billboard for the full listing.
