Skrillex just dripped a teaser of his upcoming collaboration with Must Die! and it’s got us spurting expletives like an angsty teenager…
Now, if you were hoping for thrashing dubstep, don’t like moombah, or generally dislike when artists explore new things, just turn away now and save yourself the disappointment. However, when this gets dropped live and you slap on that O-face – we’ll politely whisper a “told you.” The track is called “VIP’s In The Back,” and we’ve been hearing bits and pieces of it throughout last year, but this is the first official taste we’ve been offered. Grumbling moombah at its finest, the tune features a high energy blend of Must Die! synth assaults mixed in with Skrillex’s impeccable percussion programming.
The accompanying clip employs video game visuals akin to Porter Robinson’s Worlds, albeit a twinge harsher and gritted in OWSLA fashion as you’d expect. Flaring graphics chime along to a sweltering groove, and the whole vibe has us shifting around in our seats reminiscing of Dog Blood. It’s a thick mix, and there’s a lot going on, but we simply can’t wait for the full release.
