Eric Prydz Posts New Song With Knife Party’s Rob Swire

It’s a great time to be an Eric Prydz fan. After releasing three EPs last year with mountains of new content (22 songs in total), the Swedish producer and DJ started 2016 by announcing the release of his debut album under his primary alias (not to be confused with his previously released PR(10)DA album under his Pryda alias in 2012). Titled Opus and slated to release on February 5, the double album features a song with Rob Swire of Knife Party and Pendulum fame, and today Prydz unveiled the single in full.

The new collaboration, called “Breathe,” is definitely more pop-oriented fare for Prydz, akin to previous tracks like “Every Day,” but the production still screams uplifting progressive house. This marks Rob Swire’s first vocal appearance since “Begin Again” on Knife Party’s debut album, Abandon Ship, and his contribution helps give the track some distinct character. While this track doesn’t rank at the top of Prydz’s discography, it’s a welcome preview for his debut album and a potential radio-friendly smash.
