These Two Tried To Sneak Drugs Into A Festival Before It Was Even Open

police light police light

There are a variety of ways to sneak drugs into a music festival. It happens. Security isn’t perfect.

But there are some people who just really want to get their shit in, and they come up with pretty crazy ways to do it.

It certainly isn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last, but two individuals were arrested and charged attempting to hide drugs on the premises of Stereosonic Music Festival around Sydney Olympic Park in Australia a week before the festival opened its gates.

The first, a 21-year-old man, was found by security drilling a hole into a building, attempting to install something that could conceal drugs. Police searched his home and found 10 pills, following which the man was charged.

The second incidence is a little less exciting, but no less intriguing. Police were called to the area after a “suspicious man” was seen wandering around the park grounds. 95 ecstasy tablets were found in his car, and he was charged.

“Police will allege that he was attempting to hide drugs around the venue, before security fencing goes up around Sydney Olympic Park this week.”

“We know this happens so we’ve been regularly sweeping the area with drugs dogs over the last few days to make sure we find stuff before the park is fully locked down,” NSW Police Inspector Chris Laid said.

Stereosonic Sydney is this weekend and features Carnage, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Major Lazer and more.
