Released yesterday as part of his Little Runner EP, Nicky Venus presents “Legacy.”
The whole release is part ’80s synthpop, part modern revival of electronica, and wholly satisfying. Featuring his own vocals, Nicky Venus paints a portal to a time bygone, but never forgotten. Infectious synth design rolls throughout the track, giving it a vast depth and accessibility that was sometimes lost in productions of the era; though most sounds have progressed past this point, there’s a level of nostalgia that can’t be denied.
