Moonrise Festival in Baltimore saw some pretty impressive names grace its stages. Headlining the event were Bassnectar and Above & Beyond, with a special guest performance by the one and only Knife Party. Given that it was a ‘special guest’ set, the Australian duo decided to go all out and unveil a massive collaboration that has been cooking for a few months now.
Video has emerged of Knife Party playing their newest collab, a track that features none other than Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. The ID begins with some excellent guitar work from Morello; his signature funky sound is accompanied with a simple drum beat, allowing his expertise to be the main focus. This gives way to an electronic drop, reminding us that it’s actually a Knife Party collab and not a new Rage song. I don’t know exactly how to categorize the sounds Knife Party use, but “cowbell quasi-trap featuring Tom Morello” seems like it could work. But seriously, check it out for yourself, it’s one of the more unique collabs to come out in recent memory.
