Of all the places I would imagine for a music festival, the Great Wall of China is one of the last places that would come to mind. For one, even disregarding its status as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s really quite narrow most times. But as it turns out, YinYang Festival fought through the blockades and criticisms last year and is now throwing its second year at the “venue.”
The event will be held on the wall itself with a small stage set-up and in a plaza courtyard at some point along the wall. The festival will be limited to a capacity of 2000, but the promoters Shanghai’s Mansion Cultural Center aren’t worried about that. 
“Organizing a high quality festival limited to 2000 people where everyone has space to dance and enjoy, is more important than selling many tickets to make more money.”
The YinYang festival will be held from June 20-22, and will feature sets from Juno Reactor, Sulumi, Kamara, Adam Swain, Frits Wentink, and Cesqeaux, as well as a strong showing from the Chinese underground massive.
Note: This is not the first time dance music has graced the Great Wall. Paul Oakenfold performed there in 2003.
