Being from Indiana, I was ecstatic to receive news that I would have the opportunity to see Caked Up, HeRobust, and K Theory on June 12th, upon my arrival in Los Angeles. Considering I’ve never seen any of the three artists because they rarely come to Indiana, I am pretty stoked. Not to mention this will be my first experience at the world-renowned venue, Avalon. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard some good bass music at a show so I think I’m in for a real treat here.
If you follow the EDM scene at all, then there’s no doubt that you’ve heard the name Caked Up across blogs and festival lineups. Their fame came quickly from their success on Vine, which caught the attention of some of today’s biggest DJs including Steve Aoki. Now they have released remixes, such as “Wrecking Ball”, which have amassed well over 1 million views and plays on YouTube and Soundcloud. HeRobust’s name has been all over the radar the last year as his electronic/hip-hop tracks have garnered support from the likes of Bassnectar and Skrillex and has played major festivals like Lollapalooza and Euphoria. K Theory, whom most of you probably know from remixes such as Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” and Flo Rida’s “GDFR” have come a long way since the launch of their careers in 2011. The trio, hailing from San Francisco, bring a filthy funk and trap vibe to both their productions and DJ sets.
Join us at CONTROL this Friday, June 12th as Caked Up, HeRobust, and K Theory will have the place bouncing from start to finish.
